Romantic comedies with chimps. Not a thing but should be.
Once Upon A Holiday
Briana Evigan, Paul Campbell, Greg Evigan
Found Summary:
When an actual, honest-to-goodness royal princess runs off from her official obligations and duties for a couple of days around Christmas to see how the other half lives, she winds up falling for a good Samaritan who is unaware of her real identity.
Hallmark heavy hitter Campbell stars with Evigan, who I don't recall seeing in any other romantic comedies. She's a naive princess who just wants to visit an art museum, but her obligations get in the way. So she runs off and runs into good guy Campbell, who gets the distinct feeling that this is not someone who should be roaming the big city all by her lonesome. She prefers not to let on about who she is. And what do you know? They end up falling for each other.
Nothing too original here, but reasonably well-executed. Evigan's real-life father Greg stars as some sort of royal adviser who's pretty much the only one in her camp who's on her side.
Back in the Eighties, Greg Evigan starred in a show called B.J. and The Bear, about a trucker who rides the highways and byways of this great land with a chimp by his side and gets mixed up in crimes and whatnot. The chimp is named Bear. Nothing confusing about that. A few episodes also featured a bear named Chimp (not really).
One can't help wondering (at least this one can't) how greatly improved this movie - or any romantic comedy - would have been by the addition of at least one chimp.
It probably won’t happen, but one can dream.
